FAA registry status codes, explained.

The FAA uses short codes for registration status and registrant type. Here's what the common ones mean.

Common status codes

  • V: valid registration.
  • M: valid, assigned to the manufacturer under a dealer certificate.
  • T: valid registration from a trainee.
  • R: registration pending.
  • 7: sale reported.
  • 13 and 27: registration expired.
  • 14, 15, 24, 25, 26 and 28: renewal or re-registration notices sent.
  • 16, 17, 19, 21 and 29: pending cancellation.
  • E and 9: revoked.

Registrant types

Individual, partnership, corporation, co-owned, government, LLC, non-citizen corporation and non-citizen co-owned. On free pages we show the registrant name only for organizations.

Dates that matter

  • Certificate issued: when the current registration certificate was issued (a new registration, a sale or a renewal).
  • Last action: the most recent change to the record.
  • Expiration: when the registration expires.
  • Airworthiness date: when the airworthiness certificate was issued.
